Update on House CR Health Care Votes

In case you weren’t glued to your TV this afternoon, the House just completed a series of several votes related to implementation of the health care law:

  • The Rehberg amendment #575 prohibiting the funding of “any employee, officer, contractor, or grantee of any department” to implement the law passed on a 239-187 vote;
  • The King (IA) amendment #267 prohibiting the funding of any implementation of the law passed on a 241-187 vote;
  • The King (IA) amendment #268 prohibiting the funding of any salary of any official to implement the law passed on a 237-191 vote; and
  • The Emerson amendment #83 prohibiting the IRS from enforcing the individual mandate passed on a 246-182 vote.

(Text of the Rehberg amendment can be found here; text of the other three amendments can be found here.)

The other chamber is still processing amendments, with an eye toward passage of the CR later today or tomorrow.  The Senate will likely take up the CR (in a form and at a time yet to be announced by the majority) following the recess.
