Daniels Op-Ed on State Flexibility

In case you hadn’t seen it, Indiana’s Governor Mitch Daniels has an op-ed in the Wall Street Journal this morning discussing how the current health care law impedes on states’ ability to manage their Medicaid programs and insurance markets – along with a list of potential solutions that could yield more productive outcomes than Washington-based mandates and diktats.  Also of note: The article makes Daniels the second governor to warn about states “dumping” their employees into the new insurance Exchanges (thus forcing federal taxpayers to subsidize more participants in same), following the concerns articulated in an October op-ed in the Journal by Tennessee’s then-Governor, Democrat Phil Bredesen.
