Massachusetts Cuts Health Care Spending

In case you missed it, here is a very timely and compelling article from this morning’s Boston Globe regarding the impact of budget cuts on the Commonwealth’s reform program.  Dental coverage is being cut (potentially resulting in more tragedies like that which befell Deamonte Driver), and tens of thousands of individuals are being dis-enrolled from the Commonwealth Care program that subsidizes premiums.  These cuts were necessary because the Commonwealth (by its own admission) expanded coverage while not tackling cost growth, and relied upon unsustainable funding sources to expand entitlement programs.  A potential cautionary tale for Democrats seeking universal coverage this year…
